The Tech Bros Ltd ("Tech Bros", "we", "our", or "us") works towards increasing the number of all-female, all-technical startups coming into existence. We do this through our accelerator programme, The Tech Bros Accelerator (the "Accelerator"), where we support early-stage founding teams in becoming investor-ready startups. We run events and collaborate with external partners to provide opportunities to the founders in our orbit. This privacy notice sets out how we collect, store, process, transfer, share, and use data that identifies or is associated with you ("personal information") when you access and browse our website at thetechbros.io (our "Website"), contact us and/or engage with our Accelerator or events. We collect personal information that you submit directly to us. This can include information you provide to us when you correspond with us by phone, e-mail or otherwise, subscribe for any of our communications, apply for the Accelerator or sign up for or attend one of our events. We may also collect additional personal information about you from publicly available sources, such as LinkedIn. Like all online services, we also collect certain personal information about you automatically when you use the Website in order to operate the Website and understand how the Website is used and how we can improve it. We have set out the categories of personal information we collect and how we use them in detail below. When we ask you to provide personal information, we will indicate whether that information is mandatory or optional. If you choose not to provide any personal information marked as mandatory, we may not be able to respond to your queries, process your application, or provide other services to you.

We will collect the following personal information when you contact us, register for an event or apply to join the Accelerator:

5. HOW LONG WE KEEP YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION
We will store the personal information we collect for no longer than necessary for the purposes set out and in accordance with our legal obligations and legitimate business interests.
In determining the appropriate retention periods for each category of personal information as set out below, we consider the amount, nature, and sensitivity of the personal information, the potential risk of harm from unauthorised use or disclosure of your personal information, the purposes for which we process your personal information and the applicable legal requirements.
Data retention periods:
- Records containing personal identifiers, event attendance, Accelerator applicants, and application assessments will be retained by us for 5 years from the date of the end of our relationship with the data subject or date of last contact (whichever is later).
- Records containing feedback, communications, and complaints will be retained by us for 5 years from the date of the end of the relationship with the data subject or date of last contact (whichever is later). Where such are retained beyond this period for know-how or other purposes, all personal identifiers will be anonymised.
- Records containing communication preferences will be retained by us for 5 years from the date the marketing opt-out request was received.

As required in accordance with how we use your personal information, we may share your personal information with the following:

Our outreach and marketing messages will be sent by newsletter / marketing emails, WhatsApp messages, and LinkedIn messages. For some outreach and marketing messages, we may use personal information we collect about you to help us determine the most relevant outreach and marketing information to share with you. We will only send you outreach and marketing messages if you have given us your consent to do so. You can withdraw your consent at a later date by clicking on the unsubscribe link in the footer of our outreach and marketing emails or by contacting us at team@thetechbros.io. We make every effort to promptly process all unsubscribe requests. You may not opt-out of service-related communications (e.g. security notices).
8. STORING AND TRANSFERRING YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION
Security.
We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal information against accidental or unlawful destruction, loss, change or damage. All personal information we collect will be stored on our secure servers. We will never send you unsolicited emails or contact you by phone requesting your ID, password, credit or debit card information or national identification numbers.
International Transfers of your personal information.
The personal information we collect may be transferred to and stored in countries outside of the jurisdiction you are in where we and our third-party service providers and partners have operations, including in the United States. We will ensure that these international transfers of your personal information are made pursuant to appropriate safeguards, such as:
- ensuring that the personal information is only transferred to countries recognised by the UK Secretary of State as offering an equivalent level of protection as compared to the level of protection in the country you are located; or
- the transfer is to a third party who uses appropriate safeguards in respect of the processing in question, included but not limited to the standard contractual clauses, which are recognised as offering adequate protection for the rights and freedoms of data subject, as adopted by the UK Secretary of State.

9. YOUR RIGHTS IN RESPECT OF YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION
In accordance with applicable privacy law you have the following rights in respect of your personal information that we hold:

11. OUR POLICY TOWARDS CHILDREN
The Tech Bros platform and offerings are not directed at persons under 18 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. If you become aware that your child has provided us with personal information, without your consent, either directly or by other means, then please contact us using the details below so that we can take steps to delete such information your child has shared with us.
12. CHANGES TO THIS NOTICE
We may update this privacy notice from time to time and so you should review this page periodically. When we change this privacy notice in a material way, we will update the "last modified" date at the top of this privacy notice. Changes to this privacy notice are effective when they are posted on this page.
